Our ministry to Senior Adults is called Legacy Builders. It is our desire to contribute meaningfully to the vision of our church by becoming a loving community of senior adults who are fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Regular Programming: Legacy Builders is a ministry within our church providing opportunities for those sixty years of age and older to meet and develop friendships with those of like interests. Various activities are planned during the year that allows us to reach out and mix with others from our age group.
The following are examples of the type of events we have on a regular basis:
Socials & Dinners: Our group frequently meets together for a fellowship time around an evening meal. After the meal, we come together for a time of singing, laughter and a word from a special guest.
Fall Retreats: There has been a great interest in fall retreats at Maranatha Conference Grounds in Muskegon, Michigan. The fall is such a natural time to celebrate God's amazing creation! These retreats are a time for us to get together with other Seniors from other fellowships. We enjoy moments of deep spiritual refreshment as well as times of laughter and, of course, superb food. Well-known conference speakers and special music are brought to the retreats for our enjoyment. We have not yet been disappointed.
Outings: From time to time we have traveled together as a group to various places by car; for instance: picnics in the park, cruises on the river, mini-golf and brunch at Colasanti's; just to name a few. These outings are planned at different times during the year and announced by bulletin inserts, phone calls, and our monthly calendar of events posted for all on this website. For more information please contact the church office or the Welcome Centre.
Missionary Projects: We have taken on special projects to help meet the needs of various missionary works.
Special Ministries: "Seniors In Need" - Extended Care:
Heritage Park has two ministries which look to provide hope and support to the elderly in our community who receive long-term care. We send volunteers from our church to Versa Care [350 Dougall Ave, Windsor] and Huron Lodge [1881 Cabana Rd. W., Windsor] to encourage and touch the lives of those who live in those residences.
