REQUEST FOR CAMP SUPPLIES
Camp electives this year include "How It's Made"; a chance for campers to disassemble old appliances or electronics to see “how it's made” (precautions will be taken to ensure no dangerous components remain in the item and all plugs cut off). To do this, HPAC Kids' Camp is requesting any of your unwanted small machines, appliances, or gizmos. Also, since sewing and knitting were such a hit last year we'll be looking to stock up on all related supplies. Thanks to all who donated last year!
KIDS’ CAMP FUNDRAISING BBQ
Please plan on joining us on the Café patio on June 2 for a BBQ to help support our summer Kids’ Camp. Hot dogs and pop will be sold from 10:30AM-12:30PM on a donation basis and all proceeds will go towards the operating costs for summer camp. Hope to see you there!

There will be a silent auction featuring evening gowns from “Brides Choice & Yours”. We will also be collecting NEW or GENTLY USED jewelry and scarves which will be sold at the event for a minimum donation of $5. You can purchase tickets or drop off jewelry and scarves at the Welcome Desk. Cost: $10/person and seating is limited to 150 people so get your tickets quickly.

To Heritage Park Alliance Church,
We are writing to follow-up regarding the proposed closures of Howard Avenue and Huron Church Line.
Huron Church Line
Parkway Infrastructure Constructors is temporarily closing the intersection of Huron Church Line and Highway 3 for approximately four to five months. The closure will allow for the construction of the Lennon Submerged Culvert which is replacing the existing Hwy 3 crossing of Lennon Drain, construction of Villa Borghese Tunnel (T-7) and installation of earth retaining features. A detour along Sandwich West Parkway is in use during the closure. This intersection is east of the Todd Lane/Cabana Road intersection. Huron Church Road between Riverside Drive and the Todd Lane/Cabana Road intersection is not closing. All residents on Huron Church Line will continue to have full access to properties.
Highway 3 re-alignment, opening of Sandwich West Parkway & Diversion 11
The existing Highway 3 between Huron Church Line and Howard Avenue is now shifted. The new alignment is located just south of its previous location. Traffic signals have been adjusted at two intersections – Geraedts Drive and Sandwich West Parkway to accommodate the traffic shift. The new alignment allows for construction of Cousineau Tunnel (T- 9) and Geraedts Tunnel (T- 8).
To accommodate the re-alignment of Highway 3, Geraedts Drive is closed temporarily in coordination with the opening of Diversion 11. Traffic signals formerly located at Geraedts Drive have shifted to Diversion 11. Full access to St. Clair College is maintained through the use of Diversion 11. Sandwich West Parkway has re-opened to traffic to correspond with the re-alignment of Highway 3. Diversion 14, which had been used to take traffic around construction, is now closed.
Howard Avenue
Howard Avenue, south of Highway 3 has been proposed to be closed to allow construction of Bridge 12. Construction of this bridge, located south of Highway 3 (east of Chelsea Drive) is planned to start once Huron Church Line is reopened in mid-2013, and will require closing Howard Avenue for approximately four to six months. During this period traffic will be rerouted to the Howard Avenue Diversion (south leg of roundabout).
Based on your location, traffic travelling southbound (from Windsor) on Howard Avenue will be able to access your location by using Highway 3 to Sandwich West Parkway or Huron Church Line, or navigating through the south leg of the roundabout to connect to Howard Avenue south of the closure. Traffic travelling northbound on Howard Avenue (from Amherstburg) will continue to connect through Huron Church Line. Please find a drawing attached depicting this closure.
Note, in addition to the roundabout being a detour route for the Howard Avenue closure, Highway 401 traffic will also be diverted to the roundabout. Accordingly, there will be an approximate 4 month
overlap period during which the roundabout will serve as the detour for the Howard Avenue closure as well as the detour for Highway 401 works, therefore may have increased traffic levels.
A contingency plan and alternative route for the existing northbound Howard Avenue traffic (from Amherstburg) has been identified if traffic operations through the roundabout require it during this time period. The alternate route will direct northbound traffic to use County Road 8 to Walker Road. This will only be implemented if necessary and will include appropriate signage. This plan should not affect travellers going to your location (as they will use Huron Church Line), we just wanted to ensure your awareness, as you may see future communications on this matter.
As these closures approach, we will issue further communications and notices to the public. Please confirm if you would like your email address added to our distribution list to receive regular project updates.
If you have any further questions or concerns please continue to contact us at 1-877-937-5929 or via email at hgp-plo@wemg.ca.
