TITLE:  Technical Coordinator

REPORTS TO:  Lead Pastor of Staff, Elders and Church Ministries

CLASSIFICATION:  Part Time - up to 20 hours per week 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:  

The Technical Coordinator is responsible to mentor, develop, and lead a team to operate and maintain all audio, lighting, and video systems for services and events at HPAC. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Install and maintain audio, lighting, and video equipment throughout our facilities.

  2. Ensure that the technical needs of all events and services are met  

  3. Mentor, develop, and lead a volunteer team to support our technical needs  

  4. Mentorship and training of volunteers for sound/light and video production 

  5. Research and propose repairs and improvements to our technical equipment 

  6. Assist with recording video content as asked 

  7. Ensure that slides are prepared and error free for Sunday Services 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • A demonstratable interest in and ability to operate audio, video, and lighting equipment 

  • The following skills are considered an asset, but can be developed:  

    • Good understanding of live audio concepts such as live mixing, wireless microphone technologies, audio patching and routing, monitor mixing for IEMs, microphone placement and set up, and audio cabling

    • Experience with live audio consoles (Analog and Digital)

    • Basic knowledge of DANTE or other networked audio protocols

    • Basic knowledge of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs)

    • Good understanding of stage lighting concepts such as DMX addressing, conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures, playback of lighting cuelists, and the focusing of subject lighting

    • Experience working with industry standard lighting consoles

    • Experience or assumed knowledge of hanging/rigging lighting fixtures 

    • Good understanding of live and broadcast video concepts such as media playback, camera operation, video switching, livestreaming, and video patching

    • Experience or working knowledge of filming/recording video content

    • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts

    • Working knowledge of computer systems (Windows and MacOS)

    • Basic understanding of computer hardware 

  • Demonstratable ability to mentor, develop, and lead others  

  • Demonstrable ability to problem solve under pressure 

  • Demonstrable ability to work as a part of a team with without undue conflict
