POSITION DESCRIPTION

Director of Kids’ Camp (Development) - Seasonal Contract

Overview: The position of the Director of Kids’ Camp Development is approved by the Kids’ Camp Director.  They work collaboratively with the Kids’ Camp Director and share responsibility of camp operations. This position reports to the Director of Kids’ Camp. This is a contract position for up to 10 hours per week (beginning in May 2023) with seasonal full-time in July, and Sundays in August. Must be able to work Sunday.

Role: 

The Director of Camp Development is responsible for the spiritual development and mentorship of the staff team, volunteers, and children at camp, in keeping with the values of Heritage Park Alliance Church.  This role is predominately a teaching role in many capacities.

Qualifications: 

Applicants must have a passion for ministry and mentorship of young adults/youth and children. They must demonstrate evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their life and be comfortable in a position of leadership and teaching.

Responsibilities: 

1. Ministry Function

 

• Communicate and demonstrate Christian education and values to campers including a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

• Lead large group teaching sessions to children Jk-Gr.6

• Work with the staff team to teach them how to effectively minister to the children in their care

 

    2. Staff/Volunteer Development

 

• Lead daily devotionals and prayer time with the staff and volunteers

• Promote healthy interaction within the Children’s Ministries team

• Provide opportunities throughout camp for staff members/volunteers to exercise their spiritual gifts

   

   3. Operations

• Helps ensure protective safeguards and abuse prevention policies are completed and implemented

• Participate in training sessions including the completion of CPR & First-Aid classes

• Assist as needed with general camp preparation and daily cleanup

• Connect with parents when necessary

 

Accountability:

They are accountable to the Director of Kids’ Camp and through them to the Lead Pastor and Board of Elders. All church staff will abide by the policies, manuals, and statements of faith of Heritage Park Alliance Church, the Central Canadian District and the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada.
